Description of Siamese Cat Breed
The Siamese is a sleek cat with a distinct shaped head with the appearance of an apple. The Siamese cats have beautiful deep blue almond shaped eyes, a short coat that feels like silk. The Siamese cat is a rather intelligent cat with inquisitive, loving personalities.
Siamese are most known in the beautiful color of seal point. The distinct color is the prominent feature of this breed, structure is also important. The long Siamese head is delineated by an absolutely straight profile and well aligned chin. From the front, the outline of the face presents a smooth wedge with large ears that complete the wedge. The outstanding feature of the head is the pair of deep blue almond eyes (an eyes width apart) which are set at a slant. If you have been able to resist all the other attributes of this breed, the eyes will captivate you. They radiate intelligence and emotion.
Pricing on Siamese varies from breeder to breeder but generally the pricing on an Siamese depends on type, applicable markings and bloodlines.
Typically breeders of all breeds of kittens release their kittens somewhere between twelve and sixteen weeks of age. The reasoning behind keeping a kitten until after twelve weeks is that kittens have had their basic inoculations. This gives them time to develop the physical and social stability needed to make a smooth transition into their new environment. It is never recommended that a breeder release a kitten before twelve weeks of age as the kittens need this time to develop properly. Releasing a kitten prior to twelve weeks of age is against the law in many states. It is also recommended that you keep all pedigreed cats and kittens indoors and that they be spayed or neutered. Cats and kittens of all ages also need suitable surfaces for scratching, such as scratching posts. Scratching is a natural behavior of the cat breed and declawing a cat is not recommended and is not accepted by the Cat Fanciers Association.
